New Music Video in Production
Well it’s been a busy week or so just recently when the team from the Filmery ventured to Far North Queensland and in particular the remote outback townships of Richmond and Julia Creek to film the latest single off the debut album titled “That’s Country”.
Tony, Duncan, Josh and Brock went all out as they travelled in excess of 1,850kms in 4 days to capture some incredible and amazing footage for the new video.
We started day one with a 6 hour drive to Richmond and stopped off along the way at Prairie Hotel to have a cold refreshment and take in the iconic bush hotel, says Tony. I love catching up with Tom and Andrea who own the hotel, it’s always nice catch up with them both and share a few stories, and show off their hotel.
The next day saw the team head an hour and a half west to Julia Creek and then an hour north to the million acre cattle station “Millungera”. Georgia Fleming tourism officer for Julia Creek council and Neil Walker the manager of Millungera showed us around this incredible cattle station putting on an impromptu camp draft with a few jillaroos and a young ringer, it was a ripper and we captured some great footage.
After a few hours of filming the team made their way back into town and captured some incredible road train action shots. Tim Pratt from Pratt Cattle Transport put on a show for us and with the help of another road train managed to capture what Josh believes could be the shot of the year! It's a big call but only time will tell if Josh manages to put something magical together.
Day 3 saw us venture back to Richmond and onto the cropping and cattle operations at Silver Hills Station. Corbett and Beris Tritton showed us around with the help of Mayor John Wharton, and we were treated to a display of harvesting of some mung beans which the Corbetts produce on their 170,000 acre cattle station.
After a good few runs with the header (crop harvester) we said a warm goodbye to Beris and Corbett and made our way to the airport at Richmond.
Mayor John Wharton was on hand to introduce us to David Fox, owner and operator of Fox Helicopters. With Davids help, flying the R44 and two other pilots in some R22’s Josh and Brock managed to capture the helicopters mustering a mob of around 200 cattle.
What a ride said Brock who had never been in a chopper before and was afraid of heights, nothing not even fear will stop the boys from the Filmery capturing the perfect shot.
After the boys were finished we made our way into Richmond township and onto the Federal Palace Hotel where we were kindly accommodated for the week by Nicola and Tom Lillyman. John had lined up Mick Paddle for more road train footage and again some amazing shots were taken.
Once the sun was in a more preferable position for filming Duncan sent up their drone to capture some remarkable footage of Richmond.
Later that evening Tony and Duncan entertained a good crowd at the Federal Palace Hotel to a warm and enthusiastic crowd. One local was so impressed with Duncan’s guitar work he offered him a job to move to Richmond and become a local, Duncan was very gracious and thanked him for his offer but said he’s already got a good job.
Second last day in the warm conditions of North Queensland saw the team head back to Charters Towers where Tony was due to perform at the Charters Towers World Theatre’s 21st birthday bash and showcase. It was a Galla event hosted by James Valentine from the ABC’s The Mix. Tony along with the help of two good friends Lawrie Masso and Andrew Congoo who are both indigenous community role models in Charters Towers played one cover and two original songs to a 350 strong crowd and received warm applause. Duncan, Josh and Brock also captured some footage of the event during the evening which we hope to post on social media at a later date.
Last day in sunny NQ saw the boys travel from Charters Towers to Townsville. After a quick tour and some scenic shots off the top of Castle Hill the team had lunch down on the Strand before making their way to the airport and back home to Sydney.
A whirlwind 5 days it certainly was and Tony can’t thank Duncan, Josh and Brock enough for their tireless efforts in capturing some amazing and incredible footage which will be used for his next music video. Their hard work and dedication in producing a quality music video is evident and I highly recommend the Filmery for any production whether a music video or a promotional tourism video, these guys are extremely good at what they do and just really good blokes to boot, says Tone.
